OSBORNE WATCHING OIL FIRMS LIKE A HAWK
CHANCELLOR George Osborne said yesterday he will keep a close eye on the UK’s petrol providers to see that they pass on the 1p per litre cut in fuel duty to consumers. “We will be watching like a hawk to make sure that motorists get the benefit of the budget changes and make sure that there’s no funny business,” he told ITV’s Daybreak. He is funding the changes through a 12 per cent tax hike on North Sea oil producers’ profits.
