Cunningham joined Hamleys in 2013 as retail and brand director. He had previously been commercial director at Go Outdoors.

Hamleys chairman Frank Slevin said: “I am very pleased that we have been able to manage this succession in such a seamless way and Ralph’s appointment ensures the long-term success of Hamleys.”
Hamleys was acquired by Chinese retailer C.Banner in 2015, which pushed the toy store to open in more locations.
