Murray slumps to shock defeat
British No1 Andy Murray insists a lack of fitness was not to blame after he crashed out of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells on Saturday after a surprising second round defeat against Spain’s Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. Murray, who exited last year’s event at the same stage, was comprehensively beaten 6-4, 6-2 by the world No92 and said: “In comparison to how I felt coming in here last year, it was night and day. I was feeling way more focused and confident, so I’m not sure exactly why that happened.”
