Mipim 2016: Bleary-eyed business leaders at Mipim plunder the freebie stalls in search of a hangover cure
The annual Mipim festivities in Cannes aren't just about boozing and schmoozing with the UK's property industry figures – there are also loads of freebies.
The Capitalist's mole in the south of France tells us suited revellers are snapping up anything that isn't nailed down to the stands at the real-estate show; from free holidays to hangover cures.
Choosing to stand out from the sea of branded pens, mugs and umbrellas from rival law firms such as Shoosmiths, Barbican-based firm Hogan Lovells is handing out rubber ducks – perfect for taking a relaxing bath before hitting the main strip for Tristan Capital's annual beach party on Wednesday.
Italian delegates at Mipim are also offering property bosses the chance to win a boutique holiday, but bleary-eyed business folk seemed more interested in hangover cures.
According to our mole, as well as setting up a machine churning out Japanese-themed figurines, the Tokyo stand is giving out miso soup and packets of ramen all week.
Like many City folk, the property world swears by miso soup as a nailed-on hangover cure. Our reporter returned to the stand minutes later, only to find that all the soup was gone.
At least the delegates will be stocked up and on form for the rest of the week.
