Luiz: I’m not second choice
CHELSEA defender David Luiz is adamant he has nothing to prove to manager Jose Mourinho, despite being a victim of his rotation policy in Saturday’s win over Fulham.
Luiz missed the first three games of the season with a hamstring problem, but has featured in four of the Blues’ last five matches, including Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Swindon in the Capital One Cup.
The Brazil centre-back was one of 10 changes made by Mourinho from the weekend, but Luiz insists he does not have to convince his manager he is indispensable.
“I don’t need to prove anything,” he said. “Everyone knows who David Luiz is. I am just one player in the team. Sometimes the manager can put me in, sometimes not. It’s his choice.”
