London brings out deckchairs for Wimbledon
WIMBLEDON: it’s the most British time of the year, but you’re stuck at work like it’s not even summer. Never fear, there are loads of places in central London to watch a spot of lunchtime rallying this month.
As part of Broadgate’s Summer Live Season, matches are being screened at Exchange Square until late most days.
If you fancy a drink and a view as part of the package, watch Andy Murray battle it out on the court at shopping centre One New Change, as the sun sets behind St Paul’s Cathedral. Lawyers can get their fix on New Street Square, where weekday games on Centre Court will be screened all day.
If you want the real Wimbledon experience, London’s Bankside is a close match. A tangle of deck chairs behind the Tate Modern mean that, if this week’s heatwave is too much, there’s still a chance to cool off in the gallery.
Canary Wharfers should head to Canada Square Park, where matches are screening right until the tournament ends. Wherever you work, be sure to take a long lunch at least once this month. We promise we won’t tell.
