‘Let’s get physcial’, says Gatland
RUGBY UNION: British and Irish Lions forwards coach Warren Gatland has warned his side they face a punishing physical battle when they lock horns with world champions South Africa this summer.
The Lions begin their 10-match tour with a match against Royal XV on Saturday and Gatland, who led Wales to Grand Slam success in 2008, has pinpointed the breakdown as the key area for Test success.
“Every tackle, every hit has to be 100 per cent and if you are not prepared to do that, you are going to come up short,” the New Zealander said.
