Gutsy Dubuisson wows McGinley
EUROPEAN captain Paul McGinley has backed Victor Dubuisson to be an asset in the crucible atmosphere of the Ryder Cup following the French rising star’s sensational recovery shot masterclass.
Dubuisson, 23, drew breathless praise from golfing greats Gary Player and Tom Watson with two jaw-dropping shots from among the briar and cactus during Sunday’s ill-fated play-off with Jason Day at the WGC Match Play.
“It looks like with the points he has accumulated he is a nail-on now,” said McGinley. “I think he’ll be a very welcome addition. You can’t help but be very impressed. A lot of us were learning about Victor and the fortitude he’s shown under pressure has been impressive.”
