Grant believes Hammers heading in right direction
WEST HAM manager Avram Grant believes his side showed enough in defeat at Arsenal on Saturday to suggest they are still capable of enjoying a successful season.
The Hammers were moments away from securing a morale boosting point against high-flying Arsenal, before Alex Song’s 88th minute header condemned them to a 1-0 defeat.
The east London side sit rock bottom of the Premier League having won just once this term, but Grant feels his outfit are in good shape as they prepare for crucial fixtures against fellow strugglers Birmingham, Blackpool and Wigan this month.
Grant said: “Against Arsenal away is not easy, but the next game is more important.
“I am sure that we can do it, I am positive about this year. Maybe I have to say it, but I have a base to do it.
“Until this game we had seven matches in all competitions and lost once. We drew three we were closer to winning. I don’t say it without facts.”
