Full house would be ideal form for Euros, says Hart
ENGLAND goalkeeper Joe Hart has targeted a perfect qualifying campaign ahead of his side’s Euro 2016 Group E clash against Slovenia in Ljubljana on Sunday.
The Three Lions are closing on qualification for next summer’s competition in France having won all five of their group matches so far, while Slovenia occupy second place, six points adrift of Roy Hodgson’s team.
“We’d love to win 10 out of 10. It’d be good for the tournament to put us in a good place,” said Hart.
“Slovenia is definitely a tough game for us because they’re one of the teams that can catch us in the group. All our intentions are on that at the moment.”
The subplot to Sunday’s clash remains skipper Wayne Rooney’s pursuit of Sir Bobby Charlton’s all-time England goalscoring record. The Manchester United striker needs two to equal Charlton’s tally of 49.
“Wayne will get there, we all know that,” added Hart. “He’s our captain, our leader and our talisman. I’m looking forward to hopefully being in the team when Wayne makes history.”
