Former UBS trader Kweku Adoboli granted bail ahead of deportation judgment
Former UBS rogue trader Kweku Adoboli has been released and allowed to return home after more than a month in detention, while a judge reviews his deportation.
The 38-year-old was initially denied bail in September after being spared deportation by a legal intervention just hours before his scheduled flight to his birth country, Ghana.
An application of bail was granted earlier today by a judge at Hatton Cross Tribunal Centre, near Heathrow Airport.

His case will be the subject of a judicial review, which could take months, but today's ruling means the former trader will return home pending the outcome.
Adoboli was convicted on two counts of fraud in 2012 after his unauthorised trading lost the Swiss banking giant £1.8bn – and in 2014 the Home Office issued him with a deportation order on the grounds that he was a foreign criminal.
