IPO-bound SSP signs £135m deal for five units at Stansted Airport
Food concession group SSP yesterday announced it had won a £135m seven-year deal to run five new units at London Stansted Airport.
SSP, which is due to launch a flotation in the next few days, said that one of the concessions would be a high-end bakery concept, the James Martin Kitchen, created in partnership with the TV chef.
Kate Swann, the chief executive of SSP, said: “We’re very pleased to be partnering with the team at Stansted to provide an even better passenger experience. The brand line up we’re introducing includes investment in two exciting airport firsts in the form of the James Martin Kitchen and [high-end bar] Cabin, as well as a new generation of some exceptional international favourites.”
The other concessions are Burger King, Starbucks and M&S Simply Food.
The deal came as Stansted owner, Manchester Airports Group (MAG), revealed details of a £260m improvement programme, which would include an £80m terminal transformation project.
