Film review: Shaun the Sheep
Cert U | ★★★★☆
When the farmer in charge of Shaun’s farm goes AWOL, the herd set off on a daring adventure into the world of human beings to find him. At times it’s hard to keep track of which sheep is which, but that doesn’t matter – Aardman’s plasticine world is lit up with an affection for humdrum, small town Britain that’s infectious.
It’s slightly woolly at an hour and half (it would have benefitted from a slight trim) but that’s a quibble. An unlikely addition to the illustrious silent movie canon, Shaun the Sheep is a glorious rebuttal to anyone who thinks silliness isn’t an art form.
