Diageo announces shakeup of executive committee
Diageo, the world's biggest spirits maker, has announced a shakeup of the company's executive committee.
President of Diageo Asia Pacific Gillbert Ghostine will focus on the development of Diageo's key growth markets in India and China. Ghostine will also take up the newly created role of chief corporate officer and will be responsible for business development.
Ghostine will be responsible for Diageo's relationship with Moet & Hennessy and will join chief executive Ivan Menezes on the Moet Hennessy/Diageo joint committee.
President of Diageo Africa, Turkey, Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, Nick Blazquez has been appointed president of Diageo Africa, Eurasia and Pacific. Balzquez will be responsible for the fast growing markets in North Asia, South East Asia and Australia. The new responsibilities will be added to his existing role.
Diageo's third appointment focuses more on efficiency than growth. International Supply Centre director David Cutter has been appointed president Global Supply and Procurement and will report to chief financial officer Deirdre Mahlan.
Chief executive Ivan Menezes commented on the appointments:
I congratulate Gilbert, Nick and David Cutter on their new appointments and I look forward to working with them and the whole Diageo Executive, to deliver our ambition for Diageo to become one of the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer products companies in the world.
