Creator of EE brand Steven Day quits in hunt for new adventures
THE MAN responsible for the creation of mobile phone firm EE’s brand is to step down after five years at the helm.
Steven Day, EE’s chief of brand & communications and architect of the EE brand, will leave the firm at the end of the year, the company said yesterday in a statement.
Day created the EE brand after the 2010 merger of Orange and T-Mobile. Prior to that he was chief of staff, brand & communications for Orange.
Day’s role will not be replaced, EE said yesterday.
“I feel the time is now right for me to move on to new adventures,” said Day.
EE chief executive Olaf Swantee credited Day with creating a brand that he said had become known “across the length and breadth of the UK”.
