Cotter looks to bright future
SCOTLAND rugby union coach Vern Cotter is adamant his team’s summer tour has been valuable despite being thumped 55-6 by South Africa at the weekend.
Following victories in USA, Canada and Argentina already this month, Scotland shipped eight tries in Port Elizabeth to end a marathon overseas tour on a sour note.
But, having had the opportunity to field and assess 42 different players over the course of four matches, Cotter is content he has strong foundations to build from.
He said: “We will go forward with a plan to improve physically, improve technically and to apply tactics that suit us and the profile of the team.
“I go away with plenty of things to think about, which is good. That’s why I am positive.”
