No. They get a pretty good deal anyway. Their hours aren’t the same as in the private sector – what you put in is what you get out. The whole system is anarchic.

Yes I do, I know people who have stuck it out in the public sector because of the final salary pensions they were promised. They get paid a lot less, and their job security is just leaking away.

Not a lot. I understand there are reasons for their upset, but I think this is a gut reaction – I don’t think it’s helpful. The government needs to explain its plans more comprehensively.
