Alvarez & Marsal
The independent professional services firm has expanded its European private equity advisory business with the appointment of David Sage (pictured) as a managing director. Sage brings over 20 years’ experience in restructuring and financial advisory, having worked at Ernst & Young, where he completed assignments for Apax, Blackstone, CVC, Goldman Sachs and KKR. He has also worked at Lonmin. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Threadneedle
The asset manager has appointed Andrew Chan as head of product and business development for its Asia Pacific business. He will oversee the development of client-focused services to meet demand in Asian markets. He will report to Raymundo Yu.
Virgin Media
Jamie Heywood has joined the firm as director of mobile. He comes to the company with a decade’s experience in the mobile industry, including time spent working for Virgin Mobile in India and China, and for Orange in the UK?and Thailand.
Heywood was involved in the launch of Virgin Mobile in India and worked for Orange for five years. He replaces Jonathan Kini, who moved to take on a senior role in the customer and operations division.
Bank of America-Merrill Lynch
Charlotte Burkeman is to join the company as a managing director and co-head of prime brokerage for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Burkeman comes to the company from UBS, where she was in a similar role. She has also worked in New York and began her career with Goldman Sachs.
In addition, Sean Capstick is to take on further responsibility for EMEA equity research sales. Capstick has been with the firm since August of last year, when he left Deutsche Bank where he was co-head of European global prime financial sales. Previously, he has worked at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs in New York and London.
Marsh & Parsons
Michael Baulk has become non-executive chairman of the estate agent, having previously led ad agency AMV.
Mercer
The consulting firm has hired Richard Fuller and Ryan Pollice to its global responsible investment consulting business. Fuller will be based in Melbourne, Australia and will report to Helga Birgden. Pollice will be based in Toronto and will report to Elisabeth Bourqui.
