CITY MOVES WHO’S SWITCHING JOBS
Universal Music
The music company has promoted Laurence Hulin to vice president, emerging markets, effective immediately. Hulin will report to Olivier Robert-Murphy, global head of new business in the Universal Music Group. Hulin joined Universal Music in 2005, and for the past two years has served as vice president, business development. He has more than fifteen years experience in marketing, management and business development. In his new role he assumes responsibility for developing and enacting strategies to expand the firm’s emerging markets subsidiaries.
Nova Capital
The specialist acquirer of corporate and private equity portfolios has announced the expansion of its team with two senior appointments. Jan Kreminski has become operating partner. Since 2005, he has worked as chief executive or executive chairman of a number of Nova portfolio companies. Jonathan Seal has joined as an associate partner. Since 2007, Seal has worked as a founder member of the team managing the Rapid Realisations Fund, an Aim-listed growth capital fund.
KPMG
The professional services giant has announced that Tim Elliott has been appointed partner in its debt advisory business. Elliott has served as a managing director at both Barclays Capital and JP Morgan, and has over thirty years experience in providing debt finance advice to major corporations.
Advanced Capital
Advanced Capital, an independent group within the alternative asset management industry, has announced the hire of Alberto Clo as a special adviser for investments in the energy industry. Clo is an energy expert, academic and former Italian politician. He held the position of minister of industry and foreign trade in the 1990s. Clo’s appointment is intended to underline Advanced Capital’s move towards increasingly targeted fund launches.
Lewis Silkin
The City law firm has appointed Colin Leckey as partner in its employment, reward and immigration team. Leckey joins Lewis Silkin from Baker & McKenzie, where he was a senior associate in the employment department. Leckey has extensive experience in complex pan-European and global employment issues, with a particular focus on advising clients in the financial services sector.
Baker Tilly
The chartered accountancy firm has made two senior-level promotions within its tax practice. Terry Oliver, who previously held the position of manager, has been appointed director. He has worked for Baker Tilly since 1988, specialising in trusts and estates. Mark Abbott has also been promoted to director. Abbott has 28 years of experience in the firm’s private client department.
