Apple unveils new 600 capacity music venue in London – see pictures
Apple is launching a new music venue in London with space for 600.
The venue near Battersea Power Station has not yet revealed an opening date, but promises to connect fans and artists through intimate shows.
The venue will have views towards the river and the Battersea Power Station and will cater to seated and standing ticketholders.
No line-up or scheduling has yet been announced.
Apple Music Hall will double as recording studio
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said: “This is a huge vote of confidence in the UK as a global creative powerhouse. When a company of Apple’s scale backs British music and talent, it’s a signal of just how strong our creative sectors really are.
“Our industrial strategy is all about making Britain one of the best places in the world to invest, and the creative industries are a key part of that. These sectors are not only a source of immense national pride, but they also deliver real economic value for the country.”
The Apple Music Hall has a 38 foot wide stage that can be configured to be front facing or in-the-round. The building from the firm that founded the iPod and iTunes features 48 speakers to provide immersive, high quality sound throughout.

“We’re always looking for new opportunities to connect the artists and the fans because we are fans. What better way to celebrate this relationship than a new music venue where we get to experience amazing music in an amazing space and share it with the world. Great music and memories will be made at Apple Music Hall.”
The space will also function as a recording studio, giving artists the potential to “perform an intimate live show for fans at Apple Music Hall and walk out with a finished Spatial Audio recording, a broadcast-ready mix, and multicamera video — all from a single show,” says press material.
Battersea Power Station has entered the final phase of its £5bn regeneration project after its Malaysian owners submitted plans for the site’s remaining 16 acres.
The neighbourhood’s newest development will add 3.2m sq ft of residential, commercial and leisure space to the area, more than 15 years on from the original plans for the project.
The final phase, updated by Studio Egret West from original plans by architect Rafael Viñoly, will more-than double the scale of the existing development.
