City Moves for 16 August – Who’s switching jobs at Matterport, the Portman Estate and Eversheds Sutherland?

Matterport
Matterport, a leader in 3D capture technology and data, has expanded its UK team with five key hires, including Nick Samuels (pictured) as strategic operational director. The growing team will support Matterport’s strategic expansion across Europe. Nick joins from property investment company Property Hub, where he was responsible for growing the business across its homes, invest and lets verticals. Having started his career as a logistics assistant at Ace Vehicle Logistics, he then joined Foxtons as a move consultant. During his 14-year career there, Nick was department head of property services before becoming operations director and head of expansion at Foxton’s London head office. Also joining are Espen Roisland, as Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) business development director, who joins from cloud technology company Appirio; Ross Macdonald, as EMEA sales manager, who joins from information technology provider Softwareone; Louise O’Grady, who will be EMEA sales operations manager, who was previously at Seatgeek, the mobile ticketing marketplace; and Remi le Roy, who joins as a sales associate from who joins from Munters, a global leader in energy efficient air treatment and climate solutions.
The Portman Estate
Sophie Meeson has been appointed finance director of the Portman Estate. The Portman Estate comprises 110 acres of Marylebone in London’s West End, including frontages to Oxford Street and Baker Street. It covers 69 streets, 650 buildings and four garden squares all housing over 700 directly managed residential units, 290 office units, 150 shops and restaurants, 27 hotels and seven pubs. Sophie, who has risen up the ranks in her property funds career over the years, qualified in practice with Baker Tilly (now RSM) before joining M&G Investments in 2009. She briefly worked at Deutsche Asset Management before joining the Portman Estate in 2016. She has been deputy finance director at the estate since 2017.
Eversheds Sutherland
Eversheds Sutherland has appointed its first two dedicated legal technologists within its real estate practice group. Mark Collins and Kate Perevoshchikova join the firm to drive the use of technology and other innovative solutions across the real estate practice. Mark and Kate are both qualified lawyers, and are Eversheds Sutherland’s first technologists with the sole focus on delivering automation and technology in real estate matters. Mark joins from Herbert Smith Freehills where he was global head of knowledge management. Kate arrives from Luminance Technologies where she was responsible for a number of machine-learning projects and helped drive clients’ adoption of artificial intelligence technology.
