Squire Patton Boggs
Squire Patton Boggs has announced that Andrew Herring has been appointed partner in the London office. Andrew, a well-known rail and transportation sector lawyer, will join the firm’s real estate practice, working with the global infrastructure and construction groups. He joins from DWF. He specialises in advising public and private sector clients internationally on the structuring, procurement and delivery of major commercial and financing transactions and infrastructure projects in the transportation sector.
Great Portland Estates
Great Portland Estates announces the appointment of Steven Mew as portfolio director with effect from early October 2016. Steven will join the executive committee, and will take on responsibility for the day-to-day operations of GPE’s investment portfolio, reporting to Neil Thompson, executive director. Steven’s appointment follows the promotion to the executive committee in July 2015 of Andrew White as development director and Marc Wilder as leasing director. Steven joins from McKay Securities where he is currently property director and where he has served as a board member since 2002.
Ashurst
International law firm Ahurst has appointed Nick Elverston and Amanda Hale to its global TMT team. Nick is currently co-head of Herbert Smith Freehills’ global TMT group. He has been a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills since 2004 and before that he was a partner in the Clifford Chance TMT practice. Amanda also joins from Herbert Smith Freehills, where she has been a partner in the TMT practice since 2011. Amanda has 22 years of experience of advising clients in the TMT sector – previously at Clifford Chance but also working as GC at a start-up M2M tech company and at the UK telecoms regulator.
RGL Forensics
RGL Forensics, a financial investigations company specialising in the insurance, legal and corporate markets globally, has promoted Joe Aldous, Ben Hobby, Andrew Greenland, and Frank Wisehart to partner.
Ideal Shopping Direct
Ideal Shopping Direct has appointed Bill Adams as chief financial officer. He replaces Ian Jebson who stated his intention to retire this year during 2015. Bill Adams joins from the Home Retail Group where he has spent 15 years in a number of senior financial roles, including CFO – Homebase and, for the last three years, CFO – Argos.
