City Moves for 1 March – who’s switching jobs at SThree, Sedgwick and Monzo?
Who’s on the move today?
SThree
SThree, the international specialist STEM staffing business, has announced the appointment of Mark Dorman as chief executive. He will join SThree on 18 March. Mark brings a wealth of relevant experience in scaling international business service operations, delivering value-driven strategies and leading great teams, which will complement SThree’s deep recruitment industry experience, entrepreneurial drive and strong market positions. He was previously president of higher education, international & professional for McGraw Hill Education, where his people leadership, strategic discipline and focus on operational excellence increased market share and delivered financial performance that outranked the competitive peer group. A joint UK-US national originally from Dundee, Mark graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and served as an officer in the British Army’s Corps of Royal Military Police. Current chief executive Gary Elden will remain with the company until the AGM on 24 April to ensure a smooth handover. James Bilefield, chairman, commented: “I would like to thank Gary for his significant contribution to SThree since joining the group in 1990 and becoming CEO in 2013.”
Sedgwick
Sedgwick, a leading global provider of technology-enabled risk, benefits and integrated business solutions, has announced the appointment of veteran industry executive Jane Tutoki as an independent member of its board of directors. Jane brings to the role over 30 years of insurance leadership experience. She most recently worked as vice-chair of Sedgwick, which she joined last year through the company’s acquisition of Cunningham Lindsey. In that capacity, she managed the integration of the two companies, working to bridge the best offerings of each. Jane also oversaw many of Sedgwick’s corporate departments, including colleague resources, legal, IT and public relations.
Monzo
Gary Dolman, one of Monzo’s co-founders, executive directors and their chief financial officer (CFO), has announced his retirement. Having helped to start the company, then Mondo, in early 2015, Gary has served as the company’s CFO. Late last year he hired his successor, Alwyn Jones from Barclays, in preparation for his retirement. Gary is a big four qualified accountant who has audited, consulted and worked for financial services firms since 1984 in London and Sydney. He previously held the role of CFO at Mizuho International and ABN Amro UK. Tom Blomfield, Monzo’s chief executive and co-founder, said: “I can’t thank Gary enough for his hard work and dedication to Monzo over the last four years.”
