Channel 4 falls to a £15m loss
BROADCASTER Channel 4 has reported its second annual loss in a row, revealing a £15m annual deficit while revenues were flat at £846m last year.
Channel 4, which is ad-funded but not-for-profit, saw its total share of TV audience across all its channels fall slightly to 11 per cent from 11.5 per cent in 2011, with the main Channel 4 network down to 6.1 per cent, from 6.6 per cent.
“2013 was always likely to present challenges in terms of matching the heights created by the London 2012 Paralympics,” said chief executive David Abraham, who said the network saw erosion in its viewership as BBC One expanded its programming selection.
