British National Party decides to field London mayoral candidate David Furness
It's been a while since we've heard about the British National Party, but they've just decided that they will in fact field a candidate for Mayor of London.
After having said the were "scaling down" at the General Election, David Furness, the party's organiser was announced the party's candidate.

Furness previously stood in the 2011 Feltham and Heston parliamentary by-election, but lost out to Labour candidate Seema Malhotra, who is now shadow chief secretary to the Treasury.
In 2010 the BNP stood 338 candidates but won no MPs, which they said resulted in "coming out of the election with crippling" debt, but fielded just eight candidates in May.

In 2012 their mayoral candidate Carlos Cortiglia came in last place with just 1.3 per cent of the vote.

- Conservatives – Zac Goldsmith
- Labour – Sadiq Khan
- Green Party – Sian Berry
- Liberal Democrats – Caroline Pidgeon
- Respect- George Galloway
- Ukip – Peter Whittle
