BILL OF THE WEEK
FOUR Mayfair hedge fund managers hit the town last Tuesday to experience Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr’s one-off champagne tasting menu at his new London restaurant Roux at The Landau. The seven-course, £225-a-head dinner – which included asparagus served with bone marrow crumb and roast guinea fowl supreme with creamed morels – was served with Laurent Perrier vintages such as the Millesimé 2002, the Cuvée Rosé and the Cuvée Alexandra 1998. However, the hedge fund managers also found space for a round of the hotel’s signature cocktails and an impressive amount of Mount Gay and Clement rum and Hennessy cognac. Once four Cuban cigars had been added to the tab – no doubt to aid digestion – the evening’s final tally came to £1,541.
