BILL OF THE WEEK
Five lucky diners enjoyed a meal at Apsleys at The Lanesborough, Michelin-star chef Heinz Beck’s new restaurant, and his first outside of Italy.
The guests got stuck into Beck’s tasting menu, a seven-course feast, priced at £75 a head. The menu began with Sea bass wafer, tomato confit and avocado. Scallops, amaranth and black corns followed, before the diners moved on to sample Foie gras, cereals and a mushroom consommé. Beck’s signature dish of Carbonara fagottelli (pasta parcels) was followed by a Dover sole with fine herbs and a Lamb crepinette. Desert was a chocolate and hazelnut setteveli. All of the above was washed down by a £450 bottle of Krug, among other tipples.
