BILL OF THE WEEK
IT WAS off to the St Pancras Grand champagne bar for an exquisite champagne-and-oyster lunch on Friday for these six City boys and girls, who clearly had something to celebrate.
On the menu were four bottles of the finest fizz on the planet, picked to accompany their Maldon and Islay oysters. A fine Bollinger Blanc de Noirs and a Krug Clos du Mesnil were followed in quick succession by a bottle apiece of vintage Krug 1996 and a Salon le Mesnil 1998.
After that little lot, our connoisseurs rounded off their meal with a giant seafood platter and a round of Kasteel Cru lagers, bringing the total bill to £3,316.50.
