Beckham mulls next move after savouring a Hollywood ending
FORMER England captain David Beckham insists he is no nearer to deciding his next destination after ensuring a Hollywood ending to his six-year stint at Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night.
Beckham, 37, brought the curtain down on his American adventure by helping the Galaxy beat Houston Dynamo 3-1 to retain the Major League Soccer Cup and earn the ninth league title of his glittering career.
The ex-Manchester United, Real Madrid and AC Milan midfielder has been linked with French sides Paris Saint Germain and Monaco, as well as West Ham, but denied an agreement with any club was imminent.
“I have no idea, what’s more important is that I’m happy I’m wearing this uniform today,” he said, after winning the title in his last season with a club for the third time. “I’ll continue to play, go get some rest over Christmas and decide where to go and [what] I’m going to do.”
Beckham admitted his sadness at the end of his rollercoaster spell with the Galaxy, who he joined in summer 2007, but vowed it would not mark the end of his involvement with US football.
“I’m sad that this is the end,” he added. “This is a very special place for me and it will continue to be. I may not play here anymore but I remain committed to growing this club, this league and this sport.”
