From the mouths of babes: European Central Bank board member Jorg Asmussen offered a rare insight into the family life of a central banker yesterday, revealing a question from one of his daughters: “Dad, is your bank also evil?”
Manchester City gained full bragging rights over their local rivals last weekend but there’s a chance for United to get some sort of revenge in the Football Business Awards, given both clubs feature on the shortlist, which is out today.
The judges, including the Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck and City A.M.’s very own Lawson Muncaster, meet today at Stamford Bridge, west London, to consult and announce the shortlist. London rivals Fulham and West Ham compete for the Best Community Scheme and Wonga’s sponsorship of Newcastle United, which raised controversy when one of the players initially refused to wear the shirt before backing down, is shortlisted for the Best Sponsorship Award. The winners will be revealed on 7 November. Those interested in buying tickets to the dinner should call 0207 384 8210.
