Matrix Group
The financial services group has promoted Malcolm Le May, the chief executive of its investment banking business, to the group board. Le May took up his current role in December last year, steering the investment bank through a rapid period of expansion working with small and mid cap companies.
He previously worked at private equity real estate investor JER Partners, where he was president of their European operations.
Jefferies
The investment bank has hired Richard Taylor as head of international equity research in London and Robert Fagin as co-director of US equity research in New York.
Taylor has over 25 years of industry experience, including 13 years at Citigroup, where he was most recently a managing director and head of European equity research.
Fagin was most recently associate director of equity research at Banc of America Securities and has also been a senior research analyst covering the telecoms sector at Bear Stearns.
Investec
Crispin Gandy is to join Investec’s property investment arm, where he will be responsible for property acquisitions in the UK and Ireland.
Gandy joins from Exemplar Properties, where he was a partner and head of investment. He has also worked at CIT Group and Schroders.
Mirae Asset
The Asian asset management group has appointed Kenho Kim as managing director of its European business, Mirae Asset Global Investments UK.
Kim joined the group in 2007 as a member of the international business division, which he has headed up since 2008. Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager at Korea’s National Pension Service, where he spearheaded the establishment of the fund’s overseas investment capabilities.
