BNY Mellon
The financial services firm has appointed Peter Hazou as head of market management for treasury services, Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will report to Susan Skerritt, global head of business strategy and market solutions. Hazou joins from UniCredit, where he served as head of strategy and business development, global transaction banking. While at UniCredit, he was the bank’s delegate to the European Payments Council.
Avocet Mining
The West Africa gold mining and exploration company has named David Cather as its new chief operating officer. He will be based in London and will report to chief executive Brett Richards. Cather was most recently chief operating officer at European Goldfields, and has also held senior positions at Anglo American and De Beers.
Gatemore Capital
Professor Andrew Clare has been appointed senior adviser to Gatemore Capital, an investment consultancy. He will be an active member of the investment team and advise its asset allocation committee. Clare is associate dean and professor of asset management at Cass Business School. He also serves on the investment committee of the Marconi pension scheme and as a trustee and chair of the investment committee of the Magnox pension plan.
SVG Investment Managers
The specialist fund manager has appointed Theresa Russell as head of sales and marketing with immediate effect. She will report to chief executive Adam Steiner. Russell was most recently senior investment sales manager at Legal & General Investments. She has also worked as an independent financial adviser at Cavanagh Group, and in investment sales for Brown Shipley and Zurich.
Minter Ellison
The Asia Pacific law firm has announced the appointment of Nicola Marley as a partner and head of its London finance team. Marley’s recruitment follows Minter Ellison’s relocation of partner Nigel Clark, former head of its London finance practice, to its Beijing office. She joins from Mayer Brown International.
Anesco
The energy efficiency solutions company has appointed Jeremy Cross as head of legal. He joins from Greenberg Traurig Maher, where he specialised in real estate, asset management and green energy. He has also practised at Clyde & Co, and Hogan Lovells International.
Simmons & Simmons
The international law firm has appointed Donna Ager as a partner in its asset finance team. She joins from Clifford Chance’s London office. Ager specialises in aircraft finance work, and has also worked in the legal finance team at Airbus.
