What you need to know before the US open

Stocks futures suggest a lower open for US markets today, rounding off a week of bumpy trading, central bank announcements and ongoing wariness owing to the Ukraine situation.

Clothes retailer Gap has jumped 8.5 per cent in pre-market trading after announcing a nine per cent increase in comparable sales for April and a profit forecast above expectations.
Technology provider Rocket Fuel crashed 29 per cent in pre-market trading, following its announcement that revenue this quarter will be below expectations. BMO Capital and Goldman Sachs downgraded it as a result.
Apple’s still in talks over a deal which’ll see it it pay $3.2bn for Dr Dre’s Beats Electronics.
And Hilton Worldwide’s upped its annual profit forecast after announcing above-expectations results for the first quarter.
