What you need to know before the US open – 05/02
US stock futures sagged this morning as traders waited for private jobs data.
The S&P 500 was down 0.3 per cent, the Nasdaq 0.2 per cent and the Dow was 0.1 per cent lower.
The ADP report showed that private employees in the US added 175,000 jobs in January, just below analysts’ expectations, but soothing concerns that the economy is losing strength.
Investors are keeping a close eye on US data after weak manufacturing numbers on Monday sent markets crashing.
Over here in European markets, the FTSE is up 0.3 per cent and the Dax is down 0.2 per cent.

- US Markit services PMI for January at 1.58pm.
- US ISM non-manufacturing PMI for January at 3.00pm. Expected at 53.7 from 53.0.
