UK weather: Storm Barney brings travel chaos to train networks including Southern, Southeastern, Thameslink, Gatwick Express, Abellio Greater Anglia, Stansted Express and London Midland
Storm Barney landed last night, with severe gales of up to 80 mph in some parts of the country.
As forecast, that is having a knock-on effect with a number of train networks this morning, with several lines reporting severe or minor delays as a result of the bad weather.
A fallen tree has damaged overhead wires between Bishops Stortford and Harlow, meaning Abellio Greater Anglia has had to cancel trains between Bishops Stortford and Broxbourne. There will be delays of up to 60 minutes on services that do run. A shuttle service is now running between Liverpool Street and Harlow Town and also Cambridge and Bishops Stortford.
Overhead wire problems are also causing disruption on the East Midlands service between St Albans and Harpenden, with delays of up to 30 minutes between Bedford and London St Pancras. That disruption is expected to continue until 12pm. It is also affecting Thameslink services between St Albans and Wimbledon/Sutton, meaning a reduced service will be running until the problem is resolved.

Thameslink, Gatwick Express and Southern are recovering after a signal failure knocked the service between Three Bridges and Brighton out. Delays of up to 30 minutes are expected until 8:45am at least.
Southeastern said it was suffering from "slippery rails", which was affecting services passing stations including Albany Park, Belvedere, Bexley, Bickley, Brixton, Chislehurst, Clock House, Deptford, Dunton Green, Eden Park, Elmstead Woods, Eltham, Erith, Falconwood, Kidbrooke, Knockholt, Lee, Maze Hill, Mottingham, New Beckenham, Northfleet, St Johns, Stone Crossing, Swanscombe, Sydenham Hill, Westcombe Park, West Dulwich, and Woolwich Dockyard.
It has advised that passengers will need to allow extra time for their journey.
And on Great Western Railway, speed restrictions are still in place from yesterday, causing delays of up to 20 minutes between Barnstaple and Exeter St Davids. A supplementary bus service will be running until the end of today's service.
