Uber introduces a “business profile” option to make expensing work trips easier
Uber has launched a new “business profiles” option to make sure people don't end up paying for work trips with their own money.
It gives every Uber user the option of having an additional profile associated with work, so that all they have to do is select one or the other when calling an Uber. The idea is to simplify the separation of personal and business rides, and to facilitate expensing the relevant journeys.

First of all, the charge on your business profile goes automatically to your company card (if you have one), rather than your own – so you don't have to change the settings before a ride and can avoid accidentally paying for a journey you shouldn't.
If you need to document details of the ride for a later date, it lets you add extra details, such as expense memos or project codes. And it sends the receipt directly to your work email after each trip, so its easy to organise your yourself.
“When it comes to filing expenses, finding the right receipt, uploading or printing it, and remembering what the ride was for can be a tedious process,” the company said in a statement.
“Today, we are excited to take the first large step towards bringing the magic of Uber to every business ride with the launch of Business Profiles.”
So far, business profiles has been introduced to iOS, and it's expected to reach Android soon, too.
