Towers Watson promotes Brit to run its investment business
PROFESSIONAL services firm Towers Watson yesterday named a London-based director as its global head of investment, giving him oversight of $2 trillion of assets.
Chris Ford, who has been with Towers Watson for 23 years, most recently as its European investment head, will oversee the firm’s vast investment business, which employs about 800 associates around the world.
Its UK advisory unit also advises about half of all pension schemes in the FTSE 100 on asset allocation and investment.
Ford steps into shoes vacated by New York-based Carl Hess, who has been promoted to Towers Watson’s board and made managing director for the Americas region.
Managing director of risk and financial services Tricia Guinn said: “Chris is an extremely talented individual who is very well placed to succeed Carl and to continue building a strong global business.
“Chris has proven himself to be very capable – both strategically and operationally – at propelling the business forward and delivering strong growth and excellent results for our clients.”
Ford, a maths graduate from the University of Cambridge, will remain based in London for his new assignment.
