Tory MP and Saracens chairman behind flotation of estate agents
A UK ESTATE agency backed by Saracens chairman Nigel Wray and Tory MP Kevin Hollinrake yesterday unveiled plans for a £17m float on the stock market.
Hunters, which has 153 mostly franchised branches across the country, will list on the alternative investment market at the start of July by selling 22.3 per cent of the company to investors.
Wray was an early backer of Domino’s Pizza and sat on the board as non-executive director. He is currently Hunter’s biggest shareholder with an 18.8 per cent stake, but is not selling any shares in the offering.
Hollinrake, who was elected MP for Thirsk and Malton in May’s general election, co-founded the group in 1992. He owns a 15 per cent stake, which he will maintain in the float.
“Hunters is a highly ambitious company,” Hollinrake said.
“Our success to date has been born out of our focus on providing our customers with an exceptional service, combined with local market knowledge.”
Numis is handling the flotation of the company.
