Three new Rangers bids mulled as Miller pulls plug on £11m deal
RANGERS’ future was plunged back into jeopardy last night when prospective buyer Bill Miller withdrew his £11m bid.
Trucking tycoon Miller hinted that closer inspection of the financially stricken club’s books had caused him to reconsider.
He also cited anti-American messages from the Scottish giants’ supporters as a factor.
Administrators, who had last week made Miller preferred bidder, responded by declaring three other parties were ready to make offers.
“It became clear that preliminary information, discussions and analysis were, unfortunately, more optimistic than reality,” said Miller.
Administrators said three other bids were now “being evaluated with the utmost urgency”.
