Tevez and Ade hit braces as Man City scent history
MANCHESTER CITY (5) vs BIRMINGHAM CITY (1)
CARLOS Tevez netted a brace as Manchester City zeroed in on a Champions League debut with a second thumping victory in succession.
City followed up last week’s 6-1 drubbing of Burnley with a rout of Birmingham, with Emmanuel Adebayor also scoring twice and Nedum Onuoha grabbing the other. Cameron Jerome briefly gave the visitors hope at 3-1.
Roberto Mancini’s side now have a four-point lead over Tottenham as they prepare for Saturday’s clash with Manchester United.
“I think it is impossible to continue scoring three or four goals in the next game,” said Mancini. “We will try, but if we win 1-0 I will be happy.”
