Talks begin for new T20 event
PROPOSALS for a women’s Twenty20 tournament replicating the Indian Premier League have been discussed with the International Cricket Council.
Australian businessman Shaun Martyn wants the world’s best players to represent six teams over a 12-day event in Singapore.
Martyn revealed he is in discussion with several companies with a view to forming teams and expects each player to earn approximately £23,500.
He said: “We’re in final negotiations with three companies and we’ve been approached in the last week by one cricket association to purchase a franchise. It’s really about finding appropriate dates.”
