Syria massacre prompts outcry
BRITAIN and countries around the world expelled Syrian diplomats yesterday in response to what the US described as the “despicable” massacre of more than 100 civilians in the town of Houla.
French President Francois Hollande said that UN military action could not be ruled out, though US politicians were reluctant to discuss intervention. UN peace envoy Kofi Annan said the country was at a “tipping point”.
