IN-RUNNING TRADING HINTS
THIS has undoubtedly been one of the most dramatic recent openings to a season which is exactly what in-running punters want to hear. Liverpool were matched on Betdaq at 1.24 against Lyon on Tuesday night, while the French team were as big as 40.0 before going on to win; which highlights the massive value punters can get betting on the exchanges. I’ve already given my views as to why Liverpool may be overpriced against Man United, but how can we make a profit betting in-running?
Well, if we look at recent contests between these two we can see that United have dominated these hot-blooded encounters. That is, until Liverpool did the double over them last season. However, in all of the past nine games when a goal has been scored, it has been United who have scored first. That’s right – United took the lead at Anfield last year before the Reds won 2-1 and a Ronaldo penalty opened the scoring at Old Trafford before Liverpool put four past Van der Sar.
The best in-running betting option therefore looks to be to back Liverpool if they go behind to a first-half United goal. There are obvious dangers with this strategy and if both Gerrard and Torres are absent it wouldn’t be advisable, but we may just be able to get a big price on the Reds if they concede first.
