RSA’s head of UK and western Europe is to depart after 25 years
LONG-STANDING RSA boss Adrian Brown is to leave the company after 25 years, the insurer announced yesterday.
Brown, who was executive director and chief executive of the group’s UK and western Europe business, will leave as soon as a successor is found. He is to take up the role of executive chairman of underwriting and distribution at A J.Gallagher, a partner of RSA.
Speaking about the move, the second management change in a week at the insurer, chief executive Stephen Hester said: “Adrian has served RSA with distinction for 25 years, including since 2008 as CEO of our UK business. He has many friends here and in the industry and we are grateful for all he has done for RSA.
“For Adrian, this move to the broking industry represents a fresh challenge at which I believe he will excel. For RSA it provides the opportunity to appoint new leadership in this key part of our business.”
It is understood that Brown was not prepared to commit to stay in his role for the next three to five years, the time Hester believes the group’s new business review will take to accomplish.
The group is now looking for a successor to replace Brown.
