Royal fashion favourite Amanda Wakeley gets investment boost
FASHION label Amanda Wakeley, the British designer beloved of Kate Middleton and Hollywood stars, yesterday announced it had won the backing of a Middle Eastern private equity investor to help develop the business into a household name.
AGC Equity Partners, which is headquartered in London with offices in the Middle East, will make a multi-million pound cash investment into the business to transform it from a fashion label into a luxury lifestyle brand.
Amanda Wakeley, who founded the firm and is the creative force behind the label based on the Fulham Road, said: “This investment means that we now have the strongest operational and financial base in the company’s history.
“I have been continually pressed by our incredibly loyal customers to broaden the core fashion concept into a wider, lifestyle offering and with our new investor, I look forward to realising this plan.”
AGC, which was set up in 2009 and invests in alternative assets, said the invested capital would fund the business’s “next phase”.
