Royal Bank of Canada kicks off the financial sports day season at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Summer is just around the corner, and London's well-heeled parents are doubtless parking their 4x4s on school athletics pitches ahead of the sports day season.
Kicking things off with a bang, the Royal Bank of Canada hosted its very own sports day for the capital's students at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday.
The bank's seventh annual Race for Kids saw more than 7,000 participants from schools and firms across the capital battling it out for glory on the 5km course in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Almost 2,000 staffers from RBC and their loved ones mucked in for the race, raising £1m for charity and getting some good practise in ahead of the financial district's summer sport season.
The Olympic park is getting a lot of footfall from financiers reliving their school days this year. Bankers and brokers will go head-to-head at the stadium this July to compete in the annual Diamond Relays corporate run.

Athletes all over the Square Mile have registered, including staff from KPMG, Citi, UBS, and City law firm Pillsbury to name but a few.
