Rose blooms in Turkey to turn up heat on Stenson ahead of Dubai
ENGLAND’S Justin Rose moved a step closer to usurping Race To Dubai leader Henrik Stenson at next week’s season finale with a third-placed finish at the Turkish Open yesterday.
Rose scored a final round 65 and had a share of the lead after a birdie at the 16th hole, but eventually finished four shots behind triumphant Frenchman Victor Dubuisson.
Stenson, who finished two shots further back to tie for seventh place, heads to Dubai hoping to add to the FedEx Cup title won already this year with Britain’s Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter third and fourth in the rankings and also hot on his heels.
Wales’ Jamie Donaldson hit a sensational hole-in-one at the 16th to finish second and move up to fifth in the Race To Dubai.
It was the fifth ace of his career and earned him one million air miles from tournament sponsors Turkish Airlines.
