Rosberg told to scrub World Cup win tribute from helmet by Fifa
FOOTBALL’S governing body Fifa has forced German Formula One driver Nico Rosberg to remove an image of the World Cup from his helmet.
Rosberg had changed the headgear artwork for his home grand prix at Hockenheim this weekend to celebrate his national team’s success at the World Cup five days ago. Fifa said the move was to protect their intellectual property but that the Mercedes man was permitted to mimic Germany’s football shirts by displaying four stars, for four World Cup wins, on the helmet.
Rosberg leads the drivers’ championship from his team-mate, Britain’s Lewis Hamilton, by just four points going into the season’s 10th race. Hamilton is seeking back-to-back victories on Sunday.
