Rangers shares suspended as adviser quits
FALLEN Scottish footballing giants Rangers yesterday saw trading in its shares on the Aim market suspended after the resignation of the club’s nominated adviser (nomad) WH Ireland.
Unless the Championship club appoints a new nomad within a month Rangers International Football Club (RIFC) will be removed from the exchange. WH Ireland was RIFC’s fourth nomad in two years.
RIFC said: “The directors are disappointed that this event has had to take place despite the considerable efforts they have made over the last few weeks and months.”
Meanwhile, Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley – owner of English Premier League side Newcastle United – has been fined £7,500 by the Scottish Football Association for breaching the parent body’s rules on dual ownership.
Ashley has a 10 per cent stake in the cash-strapped Glasgow club.
