Potential buyers line up for retail chain Adams
THE troubled Adams childrenswear retail chain has received approaches from a number of potential buyers, according to administrators trying to save the company as a going concern.
Insolvency firm MCR yesterday confirmed the assets of Adams’ parent company, JS Childrenswear, were up for sale.
“We are already seeing significant interest in the business and assets of the company with a number of interested parties having already come forward,” said MCR partner Paul Clark. “We are still undergoing a process of determining the viability of the business and while it is too early to make any further announcement on who those interested parties may be, I can confirm that the company is still trading with a view to securing a going concern sale.” This is the third time Adams has fallen into administration in three years. It was once one of the UK’s largest childrenswear retailers but has been hit by the likes of Tesco.
